WHOLE SALE LINE SHEET
Farbod Ceramics is ZERO emission studio in Holland with a contemporary perspective on the beauty inherent in every day objects. I explore the aesthetic potential of objects that surround us to accentuate function and redefine form.
Founded by Farbod Nael, in the summer of 2015, after a few years of being a ceramics hobbyist for the main purpose of art therapy. Motivated by the healing powers of creativity and tactile craft making while fighting the stigma surrounding mental health and natural healing. My studio kiln and electricity is powered by 100% renewable energy (wind + solar) - (Green Choice NL) and everything is made by hand using ethically sourced, non-toxic and sustainable materials. We offer a range of original, well designed ceramics using the highest quality materials and transforming them slowly to create unique and original objects.
You will know a Farbod piece by its purpose, you will remember it for its presence, and you will love it for what it transcends.
Handcrafted from start to finish in Holland at my small batch studio.
What is Porcelain anyways?
Porcelain is a ceramic material made by heating materials, generally including a material like kaolin, in a kiln to temperatures between 1,200 and 1,400 °C (2,200 and 2,600 °F). The strength, and translucence of porcelain, relative to other types of pottery, arises mainly from vitrification and the formation of the mineral mullite within the body at these high temperatures. Its manufacturing process is more demanding than that for earthenware and stoneware, the two other main types of pottery, and it has usually been regarded as the most prestigious type of pottery for its delicacy, strength, and its white colour. It combines well with both glazes and paint, and can be modelled very well, allowing a huge range of decorative treatments in tablewares, and pipes.
Because of this high temperature firing Porcelain is an ideal and SAFEST non toxic smoking accessory material with higher durability than glass or stoneware while it can be cleaned just like a glass piece.
We feel privileged and honoured to work with a range of small businesses run and owned by independent women, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ community to bring our products in stores near you while supporting the local economy.

CUSTOM DESIGN
We accept custom design, collaborations and fabrication commissions if the project is right. Let us know what you have in mind and a little bit about yourself and your company and we'll go from there!
Here is an underglaze colour wheel to show the range of colour that is possible to achieve at my studio.
Custom Fabrication and manufacturing
In order to create new original products we can approach the project in two following ways, custom mould production or limited hand sculpted objects. I will explain each of these a little further.
1) Custom Product production with moulds
This method is recommended when trying to achieve a uniform product yet each is made individually by hand and has their unique beauty. We start by a one on one consultation to get an initial idea of the design, then the initial model will be made by hand or a 3D printer. The models will be used to create 3-5 plaster moulds, depending on the production deadline. For each product, there is a custom price range, depending on its size and complexity.
Small product setup fee 500€ - 900€ (example : small pipe, pin etc)
Medium product setup fee 1200€ - 1500€ (example: large pipe, bowl, mug bubbler)
There is a 200 Euro rubber master mould and digital model making setup fee on all new designs for larger productions.
After making the custom moulds there will be a per unit cost that can range from 20 to 50 Euros (small to large) depending on the customization, glaze and design details. The usual 20 units minimum applies.
+ now with access to full colour digital ceramic printer for any permanent "sticker" decal customization .
2) Hand Sculpted Objects
Each item is individually hand made, making each a one-of-a-kind sculpture Art with a unique identity. Therefore slight variations are expected and are present to add a unique character to each sculpture. The price for each of these products is depending on how long it takes to create and there is a 70 Euro min per hour of sculpting, wheel throwing and hand building techniques.

Our ceramics are handcrafted in AMSTERDAM. in a durable, high-quality, custom white stoneware/ porcelain hybrid clay body (unless otherwise noted) and glazed with food safe, lead-free glazes we hand-mix in-house.
Every piece is oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe; however, hand-washing will always prolong the life cycle of your pottery.
Dirt and stains on unglazed surfaces can be removed with a scrub brush and a bit of baking soda. For stubborn stains, gently sand the surface in a circular motion with a fine-grit sandpaper. Metal marks from silverware (due to the ceramic
being harder than the metal) can be easily removed with Bar Keeper’s Friend.
CERAMIC CARE + MORE
Do not expose the wares to sudden, dramatic shifts in temperature (e.g. place into a hot oven from the
freezer) or place over an open flame. All products are handcrafted.
There will be slight variations in color, texture, and finish. These are not
considered flaws. We proudly source all of our raw materials from
small businesses located in the Netherlands, with many of the custom part elements (wood, metal, etc) of our designs made in our city by distinguished craftspeople.
Our ceramics are 100% produced in-house, and we also make our own glazes, pigment underglazes and slips.
